As a variation, wrap each stalk with a strip of prosciutto, just cut garlic salt back to a light sprinkle or it will be too salty.
Olive oil
1 ½ lbs asparagus spears, woody ends trimmed off
1 tbsp garlic salt
1 tbsp pepper
1 tsp lemon zest
Preheat broiler to low setting. Arrange asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle generously with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Broil for 5-10 minutes, until tips are slightly browned and stalks are still bright green. Sprinkle lemon zest and serve.
