baked brie with carmelized onions

half appetizer, half dessert, this gooey goodness hits all the right notes.

1 wheel brie
2 medium yellow onions, peeled, halved, and thinly sliced
1/2 stick unsalted butter
t tbsp brown sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat butter over medium heat in a large saucepan and add onions. Saute gently for 30 minutes, regulating heat so onions carmelize slowly but do not burn. Add sugar and cook for another 10 minutes. Place brie in an ovensafe dish and pour onion mixture on top. Bake for 20 minutes, serve immediately.
